Costa Rica and Japan met at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa in their World Cup warm-up clash on Monday.
Both sides were finalising their preparations and to get into form for the World Cup, which begins next week in Brazil in the friendly game.
Costa Rica took the lead in the first half through Bryan Ruiz, but Japan came back in the second half to win the game thanks to goals from Yasuhito Endo, Shinji Kagawa and Yoichiro Kakitani handed Alberto Zaccheroni's side the victory.

Good morning and welcome to the live commentary of the World Cup warm-up clash between Costa Rica and Japan.
The World Cup is nearly upon us and both of these teams are looking to get into form ahead of the tournament, which begins in 10 days.
Costa Rica will be hoping to find their touch tonight to arrive in Brazil brimming with confidence as they face a massive challenge in Group D. Jorge Luis Pinto's side face Uruguay, Italy and England in their group matches and face an uphill task to make it into the knockout stages.
Japan also face a difficult task in Group C although they will have been buoyed by the news that they won't have to face a Colombia team with Radamel Falcao in it. They will be look to put the finishing touches to their preparation with a strong performance today before they face the Colombians as well as the Ivory Coast and Greece starting from next week.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with Costa Rica.
COSTA RICA STARTING XI: Navas, Umana, Miller, Diaz, Gamboa, Gonzalez, Borges, Bolanos, Tejeda, Ruiz, Campbell.
COSTA RICA SUBSTITUTES: Calvo, Cambronero, Mora, Acosta, Cubero, Barrantes, Urena, Duarte, Granados, Pemberton, Brenes, Francis.
JAPAN STARTING XI: Kawashima, Konno, Uchida, Morishige, Yoshida, Aoyama, Yamaguchi, Honda, Kagawa, Okubo, Osako.
JAPAN SUBSTITUTES: Sakai, Nagatomo, Endo, Kiyotake, Okazaki, Nishikawa, Inoha, Saito, Sakai, Gonda, Hasebe, Kakitani.
Notable names from the Costa Rica side include Bryan Ruiz formerly of Fulham and now of PSV Eindhoven. Arsenal's Joel Campbell also features in the lineup, he scored against Manchester United last season in the Champions League for Olympiacos.
Japan's standout names include Manchester United's Shinji Kagawa, who had a below-par campaign for the Red Devils last season. AC Milan's Keishuke Honda will pull the strings for Alberto Zaccheroni's side in the middle, while Southampton's Maya Yoshida will look to keep things tight at the back. Reported Arsenal target Atsuto Uchida also features for Japan at right-back.

CHANCE! Costa Rica win a free kick 40 yards from goal as Ruiz is brought down. The ball is whipped into the box from the right and Yoshida's clearance is poor and falls into the path of Ruiz. The striker tries to hit a first-time effort at goal, but his shot goes wide of the post.
CHANCE! A mistake from Miller allows Okubo to nip in behind him and race through on goal, he fires an effort at goal but the ball sails well over the bar. The striker could have done better in that situation.
CHANCE! Gamboa finds all sorts of space down the right for Costa Rica and he lifts a cross into the box which evades everyone at the near post. The ball then comes to Bolanos on the edge of the box, who fires a low effort at goal and Kawashima has to be alert to tip the ball past the post.
Another opening in this game and this time it's for Japan. The ball falls to Osako on the edge of the box and he tries to find the bottom corner with a low effort, but his shot is tame and is easily gathered by Navas.
YELLOW CARD! Osako goes into the book for Japan as he clips the legs of Tejeda from behind and brings him down.
The game has settled down after that frantic start and Japan are controlling possession at the moment, knocking the ball around with ease in the Costa Rica half.
CHANCE! Another opportunity for Japan as Kagawa receives the ball inside the box and raids down the right. The Manchester United man digs out a cross for Osako, but he can only head his effort over the bar from six yards out.
SHOT! Japan continue to have opportunities and Kagawa goes close as he latches onto a loose ball just outside the penalty area and lets fly with a powerful shot, but his effort flashes past the post.
Costa Rica have been restricted to counter attacks and Bolonas displays this threat as he speeds down the left. He has options through the middle, but he decides to go alone and blazes an effort over the bar.
Japan are trying to take the pace out of the game at the moment to limit the potential damage of a counter attack from Costa Rica. Honda and Kagawa are trying to spread the ball in midfield and retain possession to frustrate their opponents.
Zaccheroni's side are starting to find some rhythm in attack as Honda and Okubo exchange passes with a neat one-two. Okubo tries to advance further by linking up further with Kagawa, but he mistimes his run and is flagged offside.
OFF THE POST! More slick passing from Japan and Kagawa finds Osako on the edge of the area, who turns well and fires a low shot towards the bottom corner. The effort beats Navas but clatters off the post, the striker was flagged offside anyway so it wouldn't have counted. There's another warning sign for Costa Rica.
CHANCE! An opening again for Japan and Kagawa slides a through ball in for Osako. The striker is going away from goal down the left, but he still manages to get a shot away although Navas is able to make the stop.
Japan are completely dominant at the moment and the Costa Rica defence are being pulled left and right, as Honda manages to find space in the area. The midfielder goes around Navas but he can't get a shot away and Miller is able to make a block to clear the ball behind.
CHANCE! Another slick passing move from Zaccheroni's side but still no reward as Uchida drives down the right and slides a pass into the feet of Kagawa, who lays the ball off to Yamaguchi. The midfielder tries to place his effort into the bottom corner, but his shot is saved with ease by Navas.
GOAL! Costa Rica 1-0 Japan (Ruiz)
Costa Rica take the lead and it is against the run of play as Bolanos breaks down the left and fires a cross into the box. Ruiz is left unmarked at the backpost and is left with a simple finish to beat Kawashima. The counter attack works for Pinto's men.
The goal has brought Costa Rica to life, they're are the ones controlling possession now and are looking to get a second goal to put them in total command of the match.
YELLOW CARD! Konno goes into the book for Japan after mistiming his tackle on Ruiz.
CHANCE! Costa Rica are caught on the counter as Kagawa wins the ball in his own half and drives all the way into the box. He sizes up his options and decides to go for the shot, but his effort is tame and well saved by Navas. Japan haven't shown the killer instinct in front of goal today.
CHANCES! The game is wide open at the moment as Japan break upfield in numbers but Osako's attempted layoff to Honda is just overhit as he had only Navas to beat. At the other end Kawashima is forced to intervene to stop Campbell breaking through, and then seconds later Ruiz heads a cross from Gamboa just wide of the post.

HALF-TIME: Costa Rica 1-0 Japan
Costa Rica hold a narrow lead at the break thanks to Bryan Ruiz's 32nd-minute strike. The goal was totally against the run of play as Japan had been battering the Navas's goal, but couldn't find a breakthrough and they were duly punished for their lack of a clinical edge.
Pinto's side did a look a threat on the break and Japan were cut open with ease on occasions in the first half, which won't please Zaccheroni in the slightest. Gamboa has found space down the right with ease, while Bolanos on the left flank has also had success. Japan will need to tighten up at the back if they're to come back in this one.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Okubo and Aoyama are replaced by Endo and Okazaki for Japan.

CHANCE! Japan should be level as the substitute Okazaki nearly makes an instant impact as he raids down the right and fires a cross into the middle. The ball falls kindly for Honda six yards from goal, but Honda gets in his way as he tries to shoot and his shot is blocked. It's not over there though as the ball falls to Osako at the back post, but his effort is deflected wide.
Japan have come out in the second half full of energy. They're pressing every ball and are looking sharp with their passing.
CHANCE! Honda lifts a pinpoint pass into the feet of Okazaki down the right and he takes the ball in stride into box. He fires a low shot towards the near post, but his effort is beaten away by Navas.
CHANCE! Okazaki is in again down the right and he finds space to dig out another shot, but Navas makes another good stop to keep his side in the lead.
CHANCE! Costa Rica show their prowess on the break again as Campbell finds space down the right. He raids into the box and cuts back onto his left foot, but he fires his shot straight at Kawashima and Yoshida is alert to clear the danger.
GOAL! Costa Rica 1-1 Japan (Endo)
Japan get their equaliser and they have deserved that goal due to their response in the second half. A ball over the top of the Costa Rica defence found Honda in space down the right, he then cut the ball back into the box for the run of Endo, who hit the ball first time into the bottom corner.
Zaccharoni's side are dominating the game now and are passing the ball around with ease. Costa Rica are struggling to keep up with the pace of the game as Honda is really starting to pull the strings.
SUBSTITUTION: Bolanos goes off for Pinto's men and is replaced by Urena.
CHANCE! Costa Rica are always a threat as out of nothing Campbell is able to break away down the left. He lifts a cross into the box which is pinpoint for Ruiz, but his header is straight at Kawashima.
The tempo of the game has dropped significantly in the last few minutes. Both teams look a bit lethargic as the heat seems to be taking a toll on the players. Both sides seem quite content to just play on the counter, which is leading to chances.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Osako, Uchida and Konno have all made way for Japan and have been replaced by Nagatomo, Sakai and Kakitani.
The zip from Japan's game from the start of the second half has well and truly gone. They're trying to hit long ball to get Okkazaki in behind the Costa Rica defence and that is not working at all. The heat is definitely playing its part and that could be something to monitor in Brazil.
GOAL! Costa Rica 1-2 Japan (Kagawa)
A moment of magic from Kagawa hands Japan the lead as he drives the length of the pitch and exchanges a neat one-two with Kakitani to get inside the box. He still had work to do as the ball bobbled uncomfortably for him, but he was able to bring it under control and fire a shot past Navas.
Japan are back in control of this game and seem to have found a second wind from somewhere to re-establish their possession game. They will be looking to see out this game in a comfortable fashion.
CHANCE! Ruiz wins the ball down the right and raids into the box, he spots the run of Brenes at the back post and tries to find him. The cross is accurate but as the attacker tries to make contact he loses his footing and the chance is spurned.
CHANCE! Kagawa surges into the box down the left but Umana does just enough to stop him from getting a shot away. However, the ball falls to Kakitani following up behind the midfielder but he can only fire his shot wide of the target from 12 yards.
Japan seem in control of this match and have seen off the attacking threat of Costa Rica and they should be able to seal the win in Tampa.

GOAL! Costa Rica 1-3 Japan (Kakitani)
Japan get their third to wrap up the game as Kagawa's ball over the top is cleared by Diaz, but only into the path of Kakitani who races into the box and places the ball past Navas into the net.
FULL-TIME: Costa Rica 1-3 Japan
Japan give themselves a confidence boost with a comeback win in Tampa. Their second half performance was excellent and Kagawa and Honda really stepped up to get their side the victory. All three goals were well worked and their finishing improved from the first which will please Zacherroni, with just one game left before the start of the World Cup.
There were plenty of positives for Costa Rica as Ruiz netted and they did have other chances which on another day might have gone in and won them the game. Defensively they struggled to cope with the quality of Japan and they will have to learn their lessons from this game going into their Group D matches.
