Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has admitted that he was disappointed with his side's defending in the 2-1 defeat to Northampton Town in the FA Cup.
The Sky Blues would have been confident of beating their League Two opponents but first-half goals from Zander Diamond and Marc Richards condemned them to defeat at the Ricoh Arena.
The 51-year-old told BBC Sport: "We're out of the FA Cup, so I'm obviously disappointed.
"I don't want to stand here and make excuses: we had a reasonably strong side here today. I think, ultimately our inability to defend crosses was our downfall."
Coventry return to League One action next weekend when they travel to Colchester United.
