Reading have overturned an early scare to see off League One side Crawley Town in the FA Cup, courtesy of an Adam Le Fondre brace.
The game could not have started any better for the hosts as after just 15 seconds Nicky Adams cut onto his left foot to smash in the opener.
Joe Walsh could have made it 2-0 on 10 minutes but Adam Federici pulled off a full-stretch save to keep out his header.
Just two minutes later the Premier League side were level. Garath McLeary nodded down a far-post cross for Le Fondre to place home the equaliser.
By now it was all Reading but it took until the 43rd minute for them to get in front, McLeary this time creating space to pull back to Noel Hunt, who swept home.
Just two minutes into the second half and the game was over as a contest when Le Fondre converted a penalty won by Hunt.
The game fell into a pattern of Reading passing without many chances, but Federici had to be alert to palm a shot from range over his crossbar.
