Doncaster Rovers missed the opportunity to go top of League One after being held to a 1-1 draw by Crawley Town this evening.
The hosts enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges and looked the more dangerous of the two sides but chances were rare early on.
Crawley took the lead in spectacular fashion in the 25th minute when Josh Simpson latched onto a loose ball to fire the ball into the top corner from outside the box.
However, Doncaster equalised shortly before half time as James Husband lost his marker to head the ball into the bottom corner from close range.
Both teams pushed for a winner in the second period and Billy Clarke had a great opportunity to snatch all three points for the hosts but the striker poked his effort wide of the post.
Despite Crawley applying most of the pressure in the closing stages, Doncaster held on to claim a point at the Broadfield Stadium.
