Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley has urged the club's fringe players to seize their opportunity in their EFL Cup third-round match at Southampton on Wednesday.
Eagles boss Alan Pardew has expressed his intention of rotating his squad for the all-Premier League meeting at St Mary's.
Ledley told Sky Sports News: "It doesn't matter who the gaffer puts out, you are going to represent Crystal Palace Football Club and you have to go and perform to the best possible standard that you can.
"Obviously it is going to be difficult though because Southampton are a good team with a good squad and we will need to go there and perform.
"We have played them a few times [in cups] and came out on top, but we don't want to jinx that and we know it will be a hard game."
Palace head into the League Cup game on the back of a 4-1 win over Stoke City in the Premier League.
