Dean Smith: 'Walsall must exploit Crystal Palace disarray'

Walsall manager Dean Smith calls on his team to capitalise on the "disarray" at Crystal Palace in tonight's League Cup clash at the Banks's Stadium.

Walsall manager Dean Smith has called on his charges to capitalise on the "disarray" at Crystal Palace in tonight's League Cup clash at the Banks's Stadium.

The Saddlers, who have not beaten the Selhurst Park outfit since 1975, are bidding to reach the third round of the competition for the first time since 2002.

Smith is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "We are looking forward to it, it will be a really good test. Palace are a Premier League team and did really well last season but are in a bit of disarray in terms of management.

"We must have scared [Tony Pulis] off! Things like that are surprising but there are fall-outs at football clubs and from the outside we don't really know what has happened.

"For us it is one to go and enjoy and we are hopeful we can go and get a result in the game as well."

Walsall have failed to score in their last four clashes with Crystal Palace in all competitions.
