Goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Crystal Palace.
Earlier this month, Julian Speroni was ruled out for the foreseeable future with a knee injury and it has left manager Roy Hodgson in need of a replacement on the substitutes' bench.
According to ESPN, Hodgson is keen to push through a deal for Cavalieri, whom the former England boss knows from his time at Liverpool.
The 35-year-old became a free agent after ending his time with Brazilian side Fluminense and has trained with the Eagles in recent days.
During his two-year spell at Anfield between 2008 and 2010, Cavalieri made 10 appearances in all competitions, although none of the South American's outings came in the Premier League.
