New Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis wants to sign Cardiff City centre-back Mark Hudson in January to shore up his defence and aid the club's battle against the drop.
The 31-year-old skippered the Bluebirds to promotion from the Championship last term, but has yet to start a game in the Premier League.
He recently signed a contract extension that commits him to the Welsh outfit until 2015, but has since lost his first-team captaincy and place in the side to summer signing Steven Caulker.
The Mirror claims that Pulis, who was named Ian Holloway's successor on Saturday, will try to bring Hudson back to Selhurst Park, where he spent four seasons between 2004 and 2008.
Pulis is also reportedly interested in signing Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes for Palace, who are 19th in the Premier League table and have the fourth-worst defensive record in the division.
