How the Czech Republic could line up against Croatia

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how the Czech Republic could line up for their Euro 2020 clash with Croatia on Friday.

The Czech Republic's manager Jaroslav Silhavy has no need to fix what is not broken when his side take on Croatia at Hampden Park for Friday's Euro 2020 clash.

Silhavy's side began their Group D venture with an impressive 2-0 success over Scotland at the same ground, and there are no fresh injury or fitness concerns to report from the team's camp.

Werder Bremen goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka has been forced to withdraw due to back trouble and has been replaced in the squad by Tomas Koubek, but Sevilla's Tomas Vaclik will retain his spot in between the sticks.

Having kept a confidence-boosting clean sheet at Hampden Park last time out, an unchanged back four should see Tomas Kalas and Ondrej Celustka line up in the middle while Vladimir Coufal and Jan Boril feature out wide.

Tomas Soucek drew criticism for his recent comments on teammate Ondrej Kudela - who is currently serving a 10-game ban after being found guilty of racially abusing Glen Kamara - but the West Ham United man is set to partner Alex Kral in midfield nonetheless.

An unchanged attacking quartet should see Lukas Masopust, Vladimir Darida and Jakub Jankto support star striker Patrik Schick, who entered an early nomination for goal of the tournament with his 50-yard stunner versus Scotland.

The Bayer Leverkusen man notched up both goals on the day - making it eight from his last nine starts for the national side - and he will restrict teenage starlet Adam Hlozek to some more minutes from the bench.

Czech Republic possible starting lineup: Vaclik; Coufal, Kalas, Celustka, Boril; Soucek, Kral; Masopust, Darida, Jankto; Schick
