FC Dallas have beaten the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 thanks to goals from Michael Barrios and Mauro Diaz either side of half time.
The home side came close to taking the lead on the 10-minute mark, but David Texeira could only watch his effort ping off the Whitecaps post.
Carl Robinson's visitors then had their own chance to break the deadlock, but Gershon Koffie's low effort from outside the box also struck the post.
Dallas took the lead just after 30 minutes when, following some fine dribbling and clever link-up play between Diaz and Ryan Hollingshead, Barrios fired the ball into the back of the net.
Diaz then doubled the lead, scoring from the penalty spot after being brought down in the box by Whitecaps defender Jordan Harvey.
The result leaves the Whitecaps without victory in five MLS games, while Dallas have now won five of their last eight matches.
