Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick has revealed that he expects to play against Nottingham Forest on Saturday after suffering a head injury.
The 22-year-old was forced off early with a cut during his side's 1-0 win over Ipswich Town last weekend.
"I'm okay," he told the club's official website. "I have got a few stitches, but I wanted to stay on. I was told that the cut above my eye wouldn't stop bleeding so I was advised that it was best for me to come off and get it stitched up.
"It isn't going to take a lot to get us up for that game. The atmosphere is going to be unbelievable, as usual, but we have just got to keep focussed and be ready for the game."
Derby are currently in second place in the Championship table, though they are level on points with leaders Bournemouth.
