Jake Buxton has said that he is ready to shoulder the responsibility of being one of the more experienced Derby County players as the Rams prepare for this Saturday's Championship playoff final.
The 29-year-old has appeared in all but one of Derby's league games this season, helping the club to a third-place finish and this weekend's final at Wembley against Queens Park Rangers.
"As an older player and an experienced player in the squad I have got to try and get these young lads through it," he told the club website.
"I think as a young kid, when you are six or seven years of age [playing at Wembley] is what you dream of."
Buxton, who joined the Rams from Burton Albion five years ago, was voted supporters' player of the season for 2013-14.
