Derby County manager Nigel Clough has praised his side's efforts, despite losing 2-1 to Hull City on Friday night.
The Rams were narrowly edged out at Pride Park in what was their first defeat in three matches.
"We're delighted with [the display] again, we can't ask for any more effort from the players," Clough told Sky Sports News. "It's not just effort as well, they are playing some great stuff at times.
"Hull will be right up there come the end of the season and that's why we are so pleased with how we played against them, there was nothing between the two teams tonight."
Derby, who are in 10th place in the Championship table, return to league action on Boxing Day when they travel to Burnley.
