Harry Redknapp has reportedly begun talks with Derby County about becoming the Championship club's director of football.
Darren Wassall was appointed Paul Clement's interim successor as head coach last month.
According to BBC Sport, the Rams are believed to be keen to hire Redknapp with the idea of the former Premier League manager providing support to Wassall.
Clement's replacement has suffered three defeats in seven games since taking charge, and Derby currently sit fifth in the Championship table, six points off an automatic qualification spot.
Redknapp, who has coached the likes of West Ham United, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur, has been out of work since leaving Queens Park Rangers in February last year.
