Steve McLaren has stressed that he is determined to lead Derby County to the Premier League despite speculation linking him to Newcastle United.
Derby missed out on a playoff place on the final day of the Championship season after losing 3-0 to Reading, but McLaren hopes that it will galvanise the team for next season.
"I'm really annoyed, angry, and frustrated about the last two months and really determined to do something about it," he told Sky Sports News.
"I'm not making a pledge, this is how I feel at the present moment. I'm under contract at Derby and I've said that all along. I've been questioned about all the speculation which has been going on for about six months.
"My intention is to sort this out. No one has told me otherwise and until somebody does, that's my determination."
Derby were in the automatic promotion places for much of the campaign, but slipped out of the top six after winning just twice in their last 13 matches.
