Blackpool lead Doncaster Rovers 1-0 after a quick start to their first Championship game of the season at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Paul Ince's side dominated possession in the first 20 minutes and edged ahead after 17 minutes when Steven Davies pounced on a rebound to tap-in despite a double save from former Chelsea keeper Ross Turnbull.
Doncaster could have taken the lead earlier when Chris Brown could only head Mark Duffy's cross wide.
Blackpool continued to pose a threat in attack through Davies and Thomas Ince, and nearly doubled their lead when Kirk Broadfoot's effort was blocked.
However, Rovers began to settle as the half progressed and could have equalised when Duffy linked well with Brown, only to fire his shot over Matt Gilks goal.
As Paul Dickov's men enjoyed more of the ball, David Cotterill caused Blackpool problems on the left-wing and produced a great cross for new signing Richie Wellens, who failed to control his header as the ball flew harmlessly over.
