Stefan Payne scored twice as Dover Athletic beat Woking this evening to move into the National League playoff places.
The Whites were awarded a penalty inside two minutes after Toby Ajala was pulled down by Craig Braham-Barrett, but Nicky Deverdics saw his spot kick saved by Jake Cole.
However, Dover atoned for their miss seconds later as Deverdics teed up Payne for his first of the evening.
Athletic had chances to increase their lead, with Sean Raggett's header being tipped away by Cole before the Woking stopper kept out Ricky Miller's strike on the stroke of half time.
Dover continued in a similar vein after the restart as Richard Orlu and Miller brought further saves out of Cole.
Woking s had a chance to equalise midway through the second period when Joey Jones hit the target, but saw his shot saved by Mitch Walker.
However, the hosts wrapped up victory with 14 minutes left as Duane Afori-Acheampong held up the ball for Payne, who then raced clear of the visitors' defence before slotting past a helpless Cole.
The result sees the Kent outfit leapfrog Woking in the table into sixth, while the Surrey side stay level on points with Bromley and Tranmere Rovers.
