Scottish First Division side Dunfermline Athletic have lodged a request to enter into administration voluntary.
The decision, which was taken at the Court of Session in Edinburgh this afternoon, has come on the same day as the club were given a 5pm deadline to pay a £134,000 debt to HM Revenue and Customs or face liquidation proceedings.
A court hearing will now be heard in the near future to determine if the company has the necessary funds to be placed in administration.
If granted, the administrator will be Bryan Jackson of PKF.
