Dunfermline Athletic have gone top of the Scottish League One table, after they comfortably beat Brechin City 3-1.
The home side dominated the game from the start, as they could boast about having most of the possession while having a superior amount of shots on goal.
However, it took until the half-hour mark until the home side could break the deadlock, when Faissal El Bakhtaoui broke through and finished neatly past Graeme Smith in the Brechin net.
The league leaders doubled their lead shortly before half time, as Michael Paton pounced onto Joe Cardle's parried shot to put the hosts into a comfortable position.
The visitors put Dunfermline on edge, after Isaac Layne's goal made it 2-1 with plenty of the second half to play.
However, the game was put to bed when David Hopkirk restored Dunfermline's two-goal lead in the 71st minute.
Dunfermline are level on points with Ayr United but take the top spot due to a greater goal difference, while Brechin stay bottom.
