Eastleigh and Gateshead have extended their unbeaten record to three matches after playing out a 2-2 draw in the Conference Premier.
Gateshead dominated a large portion of the first half and deservedly led through Jamie Chandler's goal on 21 minutes, although Dean Beckwith looked to have provided the final touch.
However, with five minutes to go until half time, Ben Strevens got Eastleigh back on level terms with a tremendous strike from 30 yards, and it got better for the hosts when Jack Midson provided another goal by finishing from a corner.
Nine minutes into the second half, Gateshead netted an equaliser through Alex Rodman, who found the top corner after Marcus Maddison had chipped in with his second assist of the match.
That goal gave Gateshead momentum but as the match entered the final 10 minutes, neither Chandler or Maddison could force the ball home.
Eastleigh were reduced to 10 men in the closing stages when Michael Green was given a straight red card for a reckless challenge, but the home side hung on to extend their unbeaten record.
