Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Marco Russ has admitted that the atmosphere from the home supporters helped his side to their 3-0 win over Bordeaux on Thursday night.
Russ said that scoring an early goal was exactly what they needed and after that point he felt Frankfurt were in full control of the contest.
"We enjoyed the atmosphere from the first minute on and went full throttle right from kickoff," UEFA.com quotes Russ as saying. "The fans go full throttle and so do we.
"We started the match perfectly and Vaclav Kadlec scored again. It gave us an extra boost. We pressed them high up the pitch and they did not get into the game at all.
"I think we did well today and Bordeaux were lacking the means to free themselves from our grip. That is what we had intended to do and we achieved that superbly."
The other two teams in Group F are APOEL and Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
