Glenn Hoddle: 'I'm worried about England'

Glenn Hoddle reveals that he has concerns over how England will fare in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign after watching the 1-0 win over Norway on Wednesday.

Glenn Hoddle has admitted that he has concerns over England's form heading into the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

The Three Lions struggled to beat Norway in their friendly clash at Wembley as a Wayne Rooney penalty guided Roy Hodgson's side to a 1-0 win.

However, former England manager Hoddle is adamant that they have to improve if they are to beat Switzerland in their first qualifier.

He wrote in the Daily Mail: "In the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, they are the one side of substance in England's group and, as such, this game, away from home, will be the biggest test for England and tell us more about where the team are heading.

"Based on Wednesday night's game against Norway, I would have some major concerns. What worried me was the 20-minute spell after half-time. Norway came out like a different team and we seemed to wilt and looked vulnerable at times against a team who should not be able to force us on to the back foot.

"In international football you will have spells when your opponents take over, but not for 20 minutes, not at Wembley and not against this level of opposition. We needed to seize the reins back much quicker in midfield and I didn't see that happen."

England face Switzerland in Basel on Monday.
