Former England manager Glenn Hoddle believes that Raheem Sterling justified the faith shown in him with his performance against Slovenia on Sunday.
Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson kept faith with the Liverpool winger for the 3-2 victory in Ljubljana, despite the ongoing contract dispute with his club.
Hoddle says that Sterling was one of the better performers as England came from behind to win.
"What I liked about him is that despite missing a big chance early in the game, then England going behind, he was one of the big successes in the second half," Hoddle told zapsportz.com.
"He kept going and that was impressive in the light of all that's been happening with him and the fact that he missed that early chance. I felt he was exceptional in that second half."
England are six points clear at the top of Group E following the win.
