Former England manager Glenn Hoddle has slammed the performance of the Under-21 side after their 1-0 defeat to Israel on Tuesday evening.
The loss was the Young Lions' third consecutive reverse in the competition as Stuart Pearce's side exited the competition and finished bottom of Group A.
"It is not good enough at this level, it really isn't," Hoddle told Sky Sports News.
"The Israeli side is not full of players who play around Europe, no disrespect but they're all playing in Israel. We should be mega classes above them and winning that game at a canter.
"OK, there were some players missing but the ones that were there should have done far better. There's a lot of hard work to be done."
England Under-21 manager Pearce, was also critical of his side after the game.
