Hello everyone and thanks for joining me this afternoon for England's final match in this year's U21 European Championship. They face hosts Israel.

It is England's last game because, of course, they were knocked out following the 3-1 defeat to Norway. That loss, combined with the 1-0 opening defeat to Italy leaves Pearce's men bottom of Group A.

Israel do still have a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals, but it's very slim. They drew 2-2 with Norway and lost 4-0 to Italy, which has left them three points behind the Scandinavian side with many goals to make up too.

A big win for them here would help, but they'll also need Italy to beat Norway in the other game, which also kicks off at 5pm.

I'll remind you of what the players and Pearce said in the wake of that defeat in a moment, but I'll get to the team news first.

ISRAEL XI: Kleymann; Davidzada, Vahaba, Verta, Ben Harush; Zaguri, Biton, Sallalich, Krieff; Dabbur, Turgeman

ENGLAND XI: Steele; Clyne, Wisdom, Lees, Rose; Chalobah, McEachran, Shelvey; Ince, Zaha, Wickham

So Pearce does indeed make changes that he promised. Jason Steele starts in goal, with Tom Lees and Josh McEachran also named. The captain's armband has been given to Liverpool's Andre Wisdom at centre-back.

There are changes for the hosts, too. Alon Turgeman and Omri Ben Harush both start but there is no Eyal Golasa following his red card against Italy.

Pearce said after the defeat to Norway that his players did not live up to the potential that they had. Can they restore some of that tonight. Here are his words to Sky Sports News:

We're disappointed. We're out of the competition. I don't think the players have done themselves credit, to be honest with you, either individually or collectively.

"You get what you deserve out of football and that's nothing out of this tournament so far. We have to now concentrate on doing things properly for the tournament's sake against Israel.

Thomas Ince, who starts tonight, was very critical of his teammates. Again he was speaking to Sky Sports News.

"After the defeat against Italy, we had to come here with a positive energy and I think we did that. We just didn't create enough chances on goal. It's a major disappointment. It's really not good enough from an England team."

The early elimination has raised questions over Pearce's future as U21 boss. He admitted himself that he was unsure if he would stay on beyond the 2013 tournament and there have been strong links that Gareth Southgate might be ready to take over.

Even with seven changes, it's a decent looking England side on paper. Jason Steele is a good replacement goalkeeper and I do like the look of the Chelsea link in the middle of the park - Nathaniel Chalobah and Josh McEachran. McEachran certainly is of the age where he should start moving to the next level.

The other game in Group A tonight is Italy against Norway. The win against England for the Norwegians has put them in a great spot to qualify. A draw would do it and even a defeat would give them a good chance, but they'd then have to hope Israel don't thrash England.

The last time these two sides met was in September 2011. England ran out 4-1 winners at Oakwell that night but their performances so far suggest that a result like that could be some way off the mark. Of course England should win, but then so should they have against Norway.

According to the odds, England are strong favourites tonight. You won't find a bookmaker that is offering you anything the right side of evens, and about 7/11 is probably the best you'll get. If you fancy England's poor showing to continue then Israel at fours in some places might be tempting.

PREDICTION: The players are waiting in the tunnel, so it seems as good a time as any to stick my neck on the line. I think 2-0 England tonight, to at least restore some pride to the wounded Lions.

Wisdom leads the England side out, and we now have the national anthems. God Save The Queen is swiftly murdered by a set of English sportsmen yet again.

At least Israel seem to know the words to theirs. Although the tune is something out of a daytime soap opera.

We're nearly ready to go at Teddy Stadium. Some Premier League interest on the Israel bench is Omri Altman of Fulham, who is one of the exciting prospects at the London side.

KICKOFF: Israel get us underway. They're in white, England in red.

Nice skill in the middle early on from Biton, who looks to start an attack with a pass to the right after taking on the England midfield, but in the end the visitors win a free kick. Israel have started this stronger, though.

Krieff gets a small sight of goal from about 25 yards, but his shot is quickly closed down. England finally manage some passing football as they build from the back, but Shelvey's ball towards the box from the middle is cleared. He then goes for goal a few moments later but his effort hits Ben Harush, who looks a bit winded.

Sallalich does well on the right to get the better of Rose, but his cross is too deep and England escape.

England are still struggling to get into the game. They're seeing much more of the ball now, but most of it is in their own half. Shelvey looks brightest, but he cannot find a way through with his run and the ball goes to Kleymann.

Ince cuts in from the left to try to get involved, and Zaha from the other flank tries to jink into the box but cannot get through.

Neither keeper has been called into action yet. Not just from shots, but also crosses and corners. There's been a real lack of cutting edge in the final third.

Rose bursts forward for the first time but his cross is blocked by Vahaba for a throw. England try to squeeze through the middle with Wickham putting himself about but he is crowded out. Israel break with Turgeman holding it up well and Zaguri's shot is deflected wide. Decent opening on the counter, that.

Israel enjoy their first proper spell of possession since early on. They have some nice movement and it comes to Krieff, who takes a touch but fires it well over the bar on the bounce. Zaha tries to weave through at the other end but is again tackled.

Wickham, who has drifted across to the right, picks up Zaha's ball which pushed him slightly wide and does well to win the corner. England keep the ball again but lose out once more as they move into the final third.

Steele pushes the ball away for a corner, but nothing comes form the chance in the end. England are sloppy getting to a loose ball from a throw and Israel can try to work it on the edge of the box, but again they survive.

There's no real urgency from either side. Alright, England are out, but Israel at least have a slim chance of getting through. It's being played like a friendly.

However, Israel are looking the better team. At least the most threatening. They win another corner off Clyne and the right-back is then penalised for a foul soon after.

The ball is whipped into a dangerous area and Steele gets a really good punch on it to clear the danger. It comes right back, though, but this time Turgeman is flagged for offside and the chance is gone.

CHANCE! England finally get a sight of goal. Shelvey drives into the box and finds Ince, who stabs goalwards with his left foot but there was not enough on it to beat Kleymann, who did well to parry clear.

Zaha for the first time beats his man and he fires in a low cross from the left. The loose ball falls to Rose, who slashes an effort well wide of goal.

SAVES! Great work from Kleymann. First he pushes away Ince's effort, who had beaten the offside trap and then he gets across to Zaha's follow-up header. England get nothing from the resulting corner, but that is much more like it. The first save in particular was excellent.

England continue to press and eventually work a half-chance for Shelvey, whose shot from just outside the box is blocked.

After their good spell of pressure England are finally up for it. Rose wins a crunching tackle moments after he burst into the box to cross - good work from the left-back. Shelvey is involved with everything and he finds Wickham, who is selfish with his shot and it's blocked away.

It's really quite desperate defending from the Israelis, but it's effective. They're managing to block everything, the latest a shot from Ince who had cut in from the left.

It's finally settled down now after those 10 or so minutes of England dominance. Dabbur is almost played in but Lees and Wisdom knew where he was and the pass runs through for a goal kick.

England get a stroke of luck as the referee backheels the ball away from the lurking Biton. He dropped to his knees as the chance for a strike went away from him. Zaha gets past his two markers and his shot is comfortable down low for Kleymann.

Israel have a late corner but Danny Rose is down. There was no challenge and he just sat down, perhaps tweaking a muscle.

So it's goalless in Jerusalem. England have looked better, but it's still not quite enough from what should be an exciting group of attacking players.

The brightest spark has probably been Shelvey. Sitting in front of Chalobah and McEachran, who have both been quite quiet, he has linked the attack well. Zaha too came into the half, along with Ince, with both wingers moving into the space Wickham has created with his movement.

It took a while for them to click, nearly half an hour in fact. However, that they did eventually will give Pearce some optimism ahead of the second half.

The best chance came about when the two wingers combined. Zaha drove from the half-way line and threaded the ball in to Ince, who forced the best save of the match so far from Kleymann.

Israel at times have looked promising. They have been set up to play on the break and have created chances on a few occasions. The way it's set I wouldn't expect either manager to change anything at the break, but then I could be wrong.

ENGLAND SUB: I was wrong. Ince comes off and Jordan Henderson comes on. England get us back underway.

Chalobah intercepts nicely and finds McEachran. He passes back to Chalobah and it's Wickham with the shot from the edge of the box, but once more it's blocked. A positive start to the half for England, though.

CLOSE: Wickham is given the ball again, and this time he has space. He tries to curl it into the far corner from just outside the box and it's really not too far away. Good effort.

England are firmly in control of this now. Wickham is a bit slow making a run and Chalobah's pass to him goes through to Kleymann instead. They come again with Zaha turning in the box but his shot is deflected for a corner.

Another nice bit of play from England. Rose goes a long way with the ball, before Henderson plays a one-two with Shelvey and shoots, but it's blocked once more.

ISRAEL SUB: Here comes Fulham's Omri Altman, who is on for Dabbur.

OFF THE BAR! What an effort from Biton! He shoots from fully 35 yards and strikes the face of the bar. It comes right back to him and this time his effort is skied. What a strike that was and Israel are so close to going ahead.

SCORE UPDATE: In the other game Norway and Italy are still goalless. As it stands even if they can find a goal Israel are joining England in elimination.

Vahaba is down after blocking a Henderson effort from close range, but he gets up after a few moments of being winded.

CLOSE: Altman dances past a couple of defenders on the edge of the box before finding Verta to his right. The shot comes in and is not too far past the diving Steele's left-hand post. Israel are just edging on top of this one.

ISRAEL SUB: The hosts make their second change as Orr Barouch comes on for Turgeman. Sallalich comes deeper to get involved but the move breaks down in the end.

Wickham is getting more and more isolated now. He's coming deep to get the ball, but is letting himself down with his first touch just now. He loses the ball after being found by Zaha.

Still it's Israel with a large chunk of the ball. In the end Krieff knocks it out of play on the right hand side and England can try to work themselves back into the game. Wickham again is frustrated, jumping unfairly with his centre-back and giving away a free kick. At the other end Steele is out quickly to claim a long ball from Ben Harush.

SAVE! Steele makes a save, but it came from his own fluffed clearance. The goalkeeper is way out of his box, giving Zaguri a sight of goal, but he gets back enough to dive to his left and push the ball away. Altman cuts across from the right flank somehow and clatters into the post! That is nasty - he ran into it and tripped as he went past the post.

ENGLAND SUB: Nathan Redmond comes on for McEachran.

Altman is back on the pitch after receiving treatment. That's good news for Israel as he has been fantastic since coming on. Sallalich almost gets on the end of a Krieff backheel, but Rose defends well to win the goal kick off the winger.

Israel break through Sallalich on the right. He finds Altman and goes for the return pass in the box, but it is cut out. Shelvey gets desperate and shoots from way out, but misses the target in terms of both height and width.

I can't see either side winning this, as it's starting to slow down after a quite fast-paced half to this point. It looks to be the same story in the other game in the group, with Italy still being held 0-0 by Norway.

ENGLAND SUB: Redmond drives at pace on the right flank, but is dispossessed by a good tackle from Harush. It was perhaps hard, but he did get the ball. Chalobah, who looks to have been struggling in the last few minutes, makes way for Marvin Sordell.

Sordell's first action is to volley from a Wickham chest down, but he slashes at it and can only find Row Z. Or perhaps higher. Straight down the other end Krieff gets the ball form the edge of the box and fires left-footed into the bottom corner.

You have to say that Israel deserve that after their second-half showing. England have been better in general, but have faded since the break and have now gone behind.

Zaha is struggling and may not be able to continue. He has received treatment and has come back on, but isn't running comfortably.

ISRAEL SUB: Defensive move for Israel here, as Ahed Azam comes on for the out-and-out winger Sallalich. He will take up his place in defensive midfield.

Wickham again loses the ball trying to turn on the edge of the box, with Zaha in acres on the left. He wins it back, but by then the chance had gone. He has been poor for a lot of this game the Sunderland man. In the other game, Norway are ahead, which makes this result a dead-rubber.

Shelvey swings in a late free kick, but it's a bit too close to Kleyman, who rises well to gather. At the other end Zaguri shoots, but Wisdom in the end manages to clear. England have four minutes of added time to score.

Redmond skies a late effort, and that's indicative of England tonight - just no calmness in front of goal.

Guy Luzon goes a Paulo Di Canio at the whistle as his side take the scalp of England. In truth neither side probably deserved to win, but Israel took one of their chances and the points.
