England manager Roy Hodgson not considering Greg Dyke's vision

England manager Roy Hodgson says that he is not concerned by the speech made by FA chairman Greg Dyke on the status of English football.

England manager Roy Hodgson has claimed that he is not focused on the claims made by Football Association chairman Greg Dyke with regards to the future of the national setup.

Dyke stated in his first address as chairman that there are too many foreign players in the Premier League, which is preventing English football from progressing.

The chairman also set a target of the Three Lions winning the World Cup in 2022, but Hodgson has stated that he is only concerned about his team's qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine.

"I am not suggesting we should not think about English football and what is good for it," Hodgson said in a press conference. "I endorse all those things but our concerned is Moldova on Friday night and then can we get the points in the Ukraine.

"It is all I am prepared to really talk about as well. It is intelligent to have targets, I feel 2022 is too far in the future for me anyway.

"I am pleased that Greg Dyke has made his speech and I am pleased it has created so much interest. As an Englishman I am of course going to endorse most of the things he says. But today I ask that we concentrate on Moldova and Ukraine. We are not going to get involved in the details of Greg's speech."

Meanwhile, England will be without both Daniel Sturridge and Steven Caulker tomorrow night due to injuries.
