Ray Lewington has signed a four-year contract to join Roy Hodgson on England's coaching staff full-time.
Lewington was part of Hodgson's team of assistants during Euro 2012 but only on a short-term basis, with the 55-year-old still under contract with Fulham.
The FA are believed to have agreed a substantial compensation package with Fulham to secure Lewington's services on a permanent basis.
Lewington spent seven years in West London and can now began to plan with long-time friend Hodgson for England's 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
