Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins has said that Glenn Hoddle should make a return to the Three Lions and take over from Fabio Capello as England manager.
Former Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan yesterday claimed that Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Redknapp was the only English boss in contention for the job.
Wilkins disagrees with the 60-year-old and believes that Hoddle could be an "interesting" appointment.
"I don't suppose [Harry Redknapp] is the only candidate," Wilkins told talkSPORT. "One that would come off my tongue is Glenn Hoddle. He did a wonderful job before and he's far more experienced now so it would be interesting.
"I would love to see an English manager [in charge]. I think we've got some guys out there that can do the job. I think they understand the mentality of the English footballer."
Meanwhile, England are gearing up for their final Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro tonight (Friday).
