How England could line up against Ivory Coast

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how England could line up for Tuesday's international friendly with Ivory Coast.

England manager Gareth Southgate has seen John Stones withdraw from the squad ahead of Tuesday's international friendly with Ivory Coast at Wembley.

The Manchester City centre-back felt muscular tightness in the warm-up for Saturday's win over Switzerland and was replaced by Ben White at the last minute, although he is not carrying anything serious and has returned to the Etihad as a precautionary measure.

Emile Smith Rowe also missed out against the Swiss but may come back into contention for Tuesday's game, with Southgate affirming that changes will be made in midweek.

The first of such alterations could see Nick Pope displace Jordan Pickford in goal, but a lack of right-back options should see Kyle Walker-Peters make his second Three Lions appearance this week.

Changes in the backline could see Harry Maguire and Tyrick Mitchell both drafted in - the latter seeking his full debut for the national team after coming on as a substitute on Saturday - while Tyrone Mings joined Southgate for the pre-game press conference and will seemingly start as well.

Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham are ready to freshen up the midfield, but Mason Mount came off just after the hour against Switzerland and could hold his spot here.

Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish both came off the bench at the weekend and are options for change out wide, as Harry Kane closes in on Wayne Rooney's record of 53 England goals after matching Bobby Charlton's 49 against the Swiss.

England possible starting lineup: Pope; Walker-Peters, Mings, Maguire, Mitchell; Rice, Bellingham; Sterling, Mount, Grealish; Kane body check tags ::
