Frank Lampard scores the winner as England beat Brazil 2-1 in tonight's friendly at Wembley Stadium.

England have beaten Brazil 2-1 in tonight's friendly at Wembley Stadium.

Wayne Rooney put the hosts ahead after Joe Hart had saved Ronaldinho's penalty before Fred levelled for the Selecao at the start of the second half.

However, the Three Lions sealed the win with 30 minutes left to play thanks to Frank Lampard's effort.

The visitors had the chance to take the lead on 10 minutes when Jack Wilshere was adjudged to have handled the ball, but Ronaldinho saw his spot kick saved by Joe Hart before the England goalkeeper parried away the rebound.

The home side took the lead soon after as Wayne Rooney converted following Julio Cesar's save from Theo Walcott's effort.

Brazil should have scored an equaliser before half time, but Neymar somehow put the ball over the crossbar from six yards out.

However, they did find the net minutes after the restart through substitute Fred.

Gary Cahill's attempt to dribble the ball away from goal resulted in the defender being dispossessed by Lucas. Fred eventually received the ball and smashed it past Hart from 16 yards.

Brazil soon enjoyed a dominant spell and they came within inches of going in front when Fred's curled effort cracked against the crossbar.

England's winner came with an hour on the clock as Frank Lampard hit his first-time finish past Julio Cesar from the edge of the box.
