England captain Steven Gerrard has hailed his side's performance against Poland in their World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
The Liverpool midfielder scored in the 88th minute to help the Three Lions defeat their visitors 2-0 at Wembley in Group H and book a spot in next year's World Cup finals in Brazil.
"At times in these two games (against Poland and Montenegro), we were fantastic," he told ITV Sport. "Tonight, we started really well.
"The big lesson is to play better in the second half. We must keep the ball better when it gets tough. We are getting better defensively.
"We know there is a great togetherness in the squad, and that is all that matters. We performed under tremendous pressure."
Wayne Rooney opened the scoring for England in the 41st minute.
