Former England manager Glenn Hoddle has encouraged Steven Gerrard not to end his international career.
In the wake of England's early exit from the ongoing World Cup in Brazil, it has been reported that the 34-year-old may decide to call time on his stint with the Three Lions.
However, Hoddle has insisted that the Liverpool midfielder still has a role to play at international level.
"If we let Steven Gerrard quit international football, who have we got that can come in and play in the midfield, control the game and help our youngsters? I'd look straight down the camera and say please don't hang your international boots up," Hoddle told ITV Sport.
Having made his debut in 2000, Gerrard has gone on to make 113 appearances for his country.
