Harry Kane has praised his England teammates by stating that they "couldn't have given any more" in their World Cup third-place playoff loss to Belgium.
The Three Lions defied relatively low pre-tournament expectations to reach the semi-finals of Russia 2018, where they lost 2-1 to Croatia after extra time.
However, England could not end on a high note as the Red Devils ran out 2-0 winners in St Petersburg.
"The lads couldn't have given any more," Kane told ITV Sport. "Belgium are obviously a good team. I can't fault the lads, we gave everything.
"We wanted to finish on a high. We're disappointed not to have won the game but it shows we can still learn and hold our head up high."
The result saw England equal their second-best World Cup finish as they also finished fourth at Italia '90.
