England international midfielder Frank Lampard has admitted that he does not expect to start each and every game for his country.
The Chelsea star was in the starting lineup for the Three Lions in their 2014 World Cup qualifier against Moldova on Friday, and scored twice in their 5-0 victory.
"I've always been here, sometimes on the bench in recent times, and it is part of being a strong squad," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"You can't always have it your own way, you can't expect to start every game.
"I've stayed playing because I enjoy it and feel I can contribute and I'm just pleased to be back at the stage of the other night when I'm contributing and we are winning games."
Lampard will be in action for England against Ukraine in their second Group H fixture at Wembley in London on Tuesday.
