England manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that Danny Welbeck will be fit to face Italy on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old has been struggling with a thigh injury and was forced to sit out two training sessions earlier this week.
However, Hodgson confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the Manchester United striker has shaken off the knock, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has failed to overcome an injury problem of his own.
"Yes, Danny's fit," he told reporters. "I'm very fortunate that even after four weeks of preparation, the only player who isn't available for selection is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. That we knew, so there can be no complaints on that score."
England also face Uruguay and Costa Rica in Group B following their opening game with Italy.
