Jack Wilshere believes that the young England stars will thrive at the World Cup in Brazil next month.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere believes that the young players within the England World Cup squad have enough experience playing at the top level to succeed in Brazil.

The 22-year-old has been included in Roy Hodgson's 23-man squad for the tournament, despite missing two months of action with a broken foot.

Wilshere will be joined by a number of youngsters, including Ross Barkley, Raheem Sterling and Luke Shaw, who was preferred to Ashley Cole.

"It's every kid's dream to represent their country at a World Cup, but it doesn't happen for everyone so to be in the 23 is massive, not just for me but for my whole family," Wilshere told Arsenal's official website.

"I think it's a nice feeling to be part of [a youthful squad]. Ashley Cole said it's time for the youngsters as well. You've seen other countries do it in the past. You've seen Germany, they look really strong.

"There's young players, before we talk about inexperienced, who have played a full season in the Premier League. They're not that inexperienced. They have learnt at the top level and proved themselves at the top level."

England are joined in Group D by Uruguay, Italy and Costa Rica.
