Jack Wilshere is hopeful that he can make a contribution to England's World Cup hopes this summer despite not yet being fully fit.
The midfielder injured his foot during an international friendly against Denmark in March, but is expected to make a return to full fitness ahead of the Three Lions' opening game against Italy on June 14.
Regardless of the injury setbacks over the past few seasons, Wilshere insists that he is solely focused on the positives.
"I tend to look forward," the 22-year-old told Sky Sports News. "If someone told me four years ago I'd be going to a World Cup with 15 caps I'd be happy.
"I've got a World Cup in front of me now. [The injuries are] disappointing - we have to look to the future and hopefully I can contribute in this World Cup."
England continue their preparations for this summer's tournament with a friendly against Peru at Wembley on Friday night.
