Colombia defender Yerry Mina has accused the referee who oversaw his side's penalty-shootout defeat to England at the World Cup of favouritism towards the Three Lions.
The Barcelona centre-back insisted that American official Mark Geiger should have consulted VAR to establish whether Harry Kane's tumble in the box for England's goal during the 1-1 draw was worthy of a penalty kick.
"The refereeing favoured them a little. We told the ref to consult VAR on the penalty but he didn't do it," The Mirror quotes Mina as saying.
"We knew they had been going down in the box looking for a penalty."
Mina has also accused the England camp of "belittling" Colombia with some of their pre-match comments, though he declined to elaborate on this.
