Espanyol midfielder Victor Sanchez has revealed that confidence is high at the Spanish outfit following Friday's 1-0 win over Granada.
The three points moved the Barcelona-based outfit into ninth position in the table, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
"The team did very well. We knew the importance of these three points. The game was made very complicated, but in the end and thanks to our hard work, the result came and we achieved a really courageous three points," he told the club's official website.
"Everyone would have happily signed up for 29 points after 23 games at the start of the season. It puts us in a calmer situation and hopefully that's where we'll stay.
"We want to reach 42 points as possible to secure our safety in La Liga, look at where we are and see where we can go from there."
Espanyol have won eight of their 23 league games this season.
