UEFA have suspended Besiktas from European competition next season because of the Turkish club's ongoing financial problems.
The governing body's disciplinary committee have decided that Istanbul-based side, who had been warned that they faced expulsion earlier this month, had violated too many regulations.
As a result they will not feature in the Europa League next time out, while they will also be expelled for a further five years if they break any more rules.
A number of the club's players, including Manuel Fernandes and Matteo Ferrari, have recently complained that they have not been paid for several months.
