Tottenham Hotspur Ladies travel to Walton Hall Park, where they will face Everton Ladies, with both teams only looking for the best mid-table finish that they can achieve.

Spurs currently sit fifth, having let third place slip away from them in recent weeks, now sitting 11 points behind Manchester United, while the Toffees sit 10th on 18 points.

Match preview

Everton are in a poor run of form, having failed to win a match in their last six outings across all competitions, most recently falling to a 3-0 defeat against title-chasing Arsenal.

Chris Roberts's side had to absorb a lot of pressure from the Gunners' attack, and the hosts failed to get a foothold in that match, registering just one shot at Manuela Zinsberger's goal.

Within this six-game winless run, Everton have managed to score just one goal, suggesting that their lack of attacking prowess is letting them down on their aim to be competing much higher up the WSL table.

The Toffees have won just twice on their home patch this season, but Roberts has stated the importance of finishing the campaign strongly, looking to collect six points from this match and their final game of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion next weekend.

Tottenham also enter this game in bad form, having lost their last four consecutive games and not recorded a win in their last five outings, meaning that their dream of Champions League football next year is now over.

Rehanne Skinner's side have faced two tough tests against Chelsea this week, first falling to a 3-1 defeat on home soil against the Blues last weekend, before suffering a 2-1 defeat at Kingsmeadow on Thursday evening.

Their goal against Emma Hayes's side last weekend was recorded as a Sophie Ingle own goal, meaning that during that 180 minutes against Chelsea, Spurs only recorded two shots on target, which gave them little hope of collecting any points from the six available.

Spurs may have let their grasp on third spot slip away in the final stages of this campaign, but they can reflect on this year as a positive one having smashed their record points tally in the top flight, and are on course for their highest-ranked finish, which will be made even better with some more wins from their final three games.

Tottenham secured a narrow victory against Everton in the reverse fixture in December, when Jessica Naz's second-half strike was enough to separate the two teams at The Hive stadium.

Team News

Everton set up in quite a defensive shape against Arsenal, operating with five at the back, but this weekend they are expected to return to a similar lineup that faced Birmingham, operating with three in the backline.

Centre-back Gabrielle George missed her first WSL game of the season against Birmingham, but she returned to the side last time out, and will be included in that defensive trio alongside Megan Finnigan and Nathalie Bjorn.

Toni Duggan is expected to receive more attacking support from Kenza Dali, who will return to the starting 11, as well as Lucy Graham, who will operate just behind the sole striker of Duggan.

Spurs are also expected to operate with a back three, in a 3-4-3 formation, with Kyah Simon, Rachel Williams and Naz included in that forward three.

Maeva Clemaron returned in midfield in place of Eveliina Summanen on Thursday evening, while there may be space for both of them to start after Ria Percival was ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.

Everton Ladies possible starting lineup:
MacIver; Bjorn, Finnigan, George; Emslie, Christiansen, Galli, Maier; Dali, Graham; Duggan

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies possible starting lineup:
Korpela; Zadorsky, Schnaderbeck, Bartrip; Harrop, Clemaron, Summanen, Ale; Simon, Williams, Naz

We say: Everton Ladies 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur Ladies

Everton have been unable to show that they can compete with the teams fighting for third spot this season, but their squad includes players with Champions League experience, suggesting that they should be fighting a lot higher up the table.

Both teams will be desperate to avoid another loss after suffering so many in recent weeks, which is why the game is likely to conclude in a draw with both sides in similar form.
