Roberto Martinez has claimed that the possibility of making history is driving Everton in their Europa League campaign.
The Toffees take a 2-1 lead into the second leg of their last-16 tie against Dynamo Kiev on Thursday, and Martinez admits that he is desperate to lead the club to just their third European quarter-final.
"We need to not feel the responsibility of needing to get through, it is wanting to achieve something historic and special for us," the Spaniard told reporters.
"Getting into the final eight of this competition would be an incredible achievement historically.
"It would only be the third time in our history so we are all aware of the opportunity."
It was confirmed on Wednesday that Kevin Mirallas will miss the game with an injury, but Aiden McGeady is available for selection.
