Everton came from a goal down to see off Sheffield United 3-1 in the Carling Cup second round at Goodison Park.
The Blades took the lead on 28 minutes when Richard Cresswell converted Stephen Quinn's cross.
Everton replied three minutes later when Cresswell turned Jack Rodwell's shot into his own net.
The Toffees doubled their advantage when Victor Anchebe hit home on 37 minutes, and the home side furthered their lead before the break when Mikel Arteta provided a tidy finish from the edge of the box.
