Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that striker Arouna Kone will be a vital part of his team next season.
The 29-year-old, who played under Martinez at Wigan Athletic, signed a three-year contract at Goodison Park yesterday.
"He's got everything that an Evertonian would expect of a striker," The Independent quotes Martinez as saying. "The work ethic, the technical ability to score goals, that's always essential in a striker.
"But probably the biggest strength that Arouna has is that calmness in front of goal, that composure to be a real reference for the team."
Kone netted 13 goals for Wigan last season.
