Everton boss David Moyes has said that the club give young players more of a chance than other sides.
Ross Barkley, 18, has gone out on a month-long loan to Sheffield Wednesday to gain more first-team experience.
Moyes told the Daily Mail: "Ross is ready to go play at a senior level, but not quite here yet.
"But I do think we have been one of the better clubs at introducing young players and trying to give them opportunities and we will continue to do so."
Shane Duffy also went out on loan last season, but Moyes says that the 20-year-old will remain at Everton for now to play in the Under-21 league.
However, the manager hasn't ruled out a loan deal for Duffy later in the season.
