Everton have been tipped to reignite their interest in Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt.
The 27-year-old had been linked with a move to Goodison Park while Sam Allardyce was at the club, with the pair having worked together at Sunderland and Palace.
Although Allardyce has since left Everton, the Daily Mail claims that Van Aanholt could still be on the Toffees' summer transfer shortlist as a replacement for the ageing Leighton Baines.
The report adds that Everton's new director of football, Marcel Brands, is well aware of the capabilities of a defender who likes to get forward and score goals, and feels that his fellow Dutchman fits that bill.
Van Aanholt has made upwards of 100 Premier League appearances for the likes of Chelsea, Wigan Athletic, Sunderland and Palace, as well as boasting seven caps for the Netherlands.
