Everton manager Roberto Martinez has played down reports that have linked his club with a move for free agent Ron Vlaar.
Recent speculation had claimed that Martinez was prepared to offer the 30-year-old, who left Aston Villa in the summer, a contract until the end of the season.
However, the Everton boss has insisted that "no discussions" have taken place with the Dutch centre-back.
"He has experience in the Premier League. He is unattached, but there has been no discussions and nothing to comment on," the Spaniard told reporters.
It is believed that Vlaar has fully recovered from a knee complaint that he suffered earlier this year.
