Steven Naismith has reportedly undergone extensive medical checks ahead of his proposed move to Everton.
The Scottish attacker is a free agent after he rejected the transfer of his contract to a newco formed by Rangers new owner Charles Green.
West Ham United, Stoke City and Wigan Athletic are all understood to have made an approach for the 25-year-old.
However, Everton boss David Moyes appears to have won the race for the player, who has not played since last October because of a cruciate ligament injury, according to Sky Sports News.
Naismith joined Rangers in 2007 from Kilmarnock.
