Everton have reportedly decided against offering Antolin Alcaraz a new deal and he is set to leave the club next month.
Alcaraz followed Roberto Martinez from Wigan Athletic to Goodison Park in 2013, but much of the early stages of his stay at the club was affected by injuries.
The Paraguayan defender has often been criticised for his performances when he has been given opportunities by Martinez, and the Liverpool Echo claims that he will be released when his current deal expires.
Phil Jagielka and John Stones have been Everton's first-choice central defensive pairing this season, but the club are likely to be in the market for a centre-back this summer as Martinez looks to add depth to his squad.
Sylvain Distin has also played his final game for the club following a six-year spell.
