Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has insisted that his team deserved their surprise victory at Northampton Saints in the Aviva Premiership.
The Chiefs made it five consecutive wins in all competitions on Friday night as they left Franklin's Gardens with a 24-18 triumph.
Gareth Steenson kicked nine of Exeter's points during the match, while Thomas Waldrom scored two of their three tries.
"We are level-headed enough to know that if we were going to have a good season then this was an opportunity to come to Franklin's Gardens and pick up four points, because we are all very aware that they have a lot of good players missing," Baxter told BBC Sport.
"The kicking and set-piece battle was always going to be key in these conditions and I think we deservedly edged that."
Exeter have the chance to continue their winning run next Saturday when they host Wasps.
